PolyMax™ PC-FR

PolyMax™ is a family of advanced 3D printing filaments produced with Polymaker’s Nano-reinforcement technology, to deliver exceptional mechanical properties and printing quality.

PolyMax™ PC-FR is a flame retardant PC filament (UL94V-0/1.5 mm) displaying excellent toughness, strength and heat resistance. This filament opens new applications in the automotive, railway and aerospace industries.


Flame Retardant - V0 performance in the UL94 flame retardancy test, PolyMax™ PC-FR benefits applications where respective material approval is required.

Fantastic Toughness - An excellent choice for engineering applications, Polymaker has introduced its nano reinforcement technology that is featured in all PolyMax™ materials. This boosts the fracture toughness of the FR material and produces a flame-retardant filament that can still perform in demanding applications.

Heat Resistant - PolyMax™ PC-FR offers better heat resistance than a wide variety of material types, withstanding temperatures well above 110 ºC.

Improved Printability - PolyMax™ PC-FR has been engineered specifically with compatibility and usability in mind. PolyMax™ PC-FR not only offers excellent properties and print quality, but also improved printability when compared to other PC filaments. Enclosure and 90°C heated bed required; a heated chamber is highly recommended.

PolyMax™ PC-FR features Polymaker's Nano-reinforcement technology:

Nano-reinforcement - Nano-reinforcement technology is applied to produce filaments with excellent mechanical properties and printing quality. It dramatically improves the toughness of the material by increasing its impact resistance.

Print Settings

Nozzle Temperature:
250˚C – 270˚C

Printing Speed:
30mm/s – 50mm/s

Bed Temperature:
90˚C – 105˚C

Chamber Temperature:
90˚C – 100˚C

Bed Surface:
Almost any surface with a thin coat of PVA glue

Cooling Fan:

Note: Based on 0.4 mm nozzle and Simplify 3D v.3.1. Printing conditions may vary with different printers and nozzle diameters

Recommended Support Materials:
PolyDissolve™ S2

When printing with PolyMax™ PC-FR it is recommended to use a heated chamber.
It is recommended to anneal the printed part right after the printing process to release the residual internal stress when not using a heated chamber.

Annealing settings: 100˚C for 2h
