New Smoothable 3D Printing Filament

PolySmooth is Polymakers new filament designed to be compatible with their new Polysher smoothing machine which removes layer lines from your 3D prints!

Aside from its great smoothing characteristics, PolySmooth features no/minimal warping, balanced mechanical properties, a wide printing temperature range, low printing odor, easily removable support material and doesn’t require a heated bed.

PolySmooth features tensile strength higher than PLA & ABS and an impact resistance significantly higher than both PLA and ABS. 

When Polyshing, the “ridges and valleys” from the layers prior to Polyshing often act as stress concentrators and are usually where the damage (in the form of cracks) initiated. During Polyshing these surface ridges are eliminated making the part more damage-resisant and tougher. Playmakers testing showed depending on time / extent of polishing the impact resistance can actually increase by 50%!

PolySmooth is the first 3D printing filament engineered for layer free post-processing. PolySmooth was specifically developed to work alongside their Polysher smoothing machine which improves the surface quality of your 3D prints!

Warp Free

During printing, PolySmooth exhibits very minimal residual stress which means almost no warping. This makes PolySmooth a great material for large parts or objects that need fantastic dimensional accuracy.


Balanced Mechanical Properties

Polished or unpolished, PolySmooth is an ideal material for everyday 3D printing. Its balanced mechanical properties means it outperforms standard ABS and PLA on most attributes!

Easy to Print

Polymaker designed PolySmooth to be compatible with almost all filment-based 3D printers and prints under similar conditions to PLA. PolySmooth is the perfect companion for your 3D printer featuring low odor, wide printing temperature range, easy to remove support material and no heated bed required!

Easy to remove Support Material

Polymakers used their experience developing PolySupport to infuse PolySmooth with the same support removal properties. Breaking away support material from PolySmooths surface is easy and after polishing there is no scar left on the surface!

Build platform
All Polymaker products work well with common build plate surfaces such as the blue tape, Kapton tape, glass, etc. However for the best user experience, we recommend that you use our materials with BuildTak, a build plate surface designed specifically for desktop FDM/FFF printers.
